What types of companies does Incorpuk form? +
By default, we incorporate UK Limited Companies (Ltd) which is the most popular for small and medium businesses. All our packages are UK Limited companies (Ltd) by default.

We can also incorporate UK LLP and non profit companies. If you need to form any other company types such as LLP or Social enterprise companies you can contact us via email or live chat.

Do I need a UK address to form a company? +
  • A unique company name.
  • At least one director and shareholder (aged 16+). (can be same person)
  • Proof of ID
  • Proof of address from any country you currently reside in.
How long does it take to register a company? +
It usually takes within 1 to 2 business days but may take shorter or longer depending on Companies House workload and checks.
What is a Companies House? +
Companies House is the UK’s registrar of companies . All companies must be registered with it and file annual documents.
Do I need to live in the UK to start a UK company? +
No. Non-residents and foreign nationals can set up a UK company, but the registered office must be in the UK.
What is a registered office address? +
It's the official address of your company where legal documents are sent. It must be in the UK and visible to the public.
Can I use my home address as the director service address? +
Yes, but it will be on public record. Many people prefer to use a formation agent’s address for privacy.
What is the minimum share capital? +
There is no minimum, but commonly companies issue £1 per share. It defines ownership and voting rights.
Do I need a business bank account? +
Yes, especially if you're trading. It’s also necessary to separate personal and business finances. We provide support and guidelines for bank account opening.
What are the ongoing responsibilities after formation? +
  • File a Confirmation Statement (annually). Covered by Incorpuk as part of annual service renewal
  • Maintain Annual registered office address and Director service address ( Covered by Incorpuk as part of Annual Service Renewal.
  • File annual accounts with Companies House. (Can be covered by Incorpuk for an extra fee if company is dormant)
  • File a Company Tax Return with HMRC. (can be covered by Incorpuk for an extra fee if the company is dormant
  • Maintain statutory records (directors, shareholders, etc.). (covered by Incorpuk as part of Annual Service renewal)
