What We Need From You

Please provide TWO identity documents, either:

Option A — Two documents from Group A

Group A (Photo ID – valid or expired up to 18 months):

  • Passport
  • UK or EU Photocard Driving Licence
  • Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
  • EU/EEA Biometric National ID Card
  • UK HM Forces ID Card
  • PASS Card (UK Proof-of-Age Card)
Option B — One from Group A + One from Group B

Group B (Supporting Address Documents – recent copies):

  • Birth or Marriage Certificate
  • Mortgage Statement (within last 12 months)
  • Bank/Building Society Statement (within last 3 months)
  • Utility Bill (within last 3 months)

Who needs to complete ID verification?

Do I need to do this every year?

No. Identity verification is one-time only, unless you change your name.

How long does verification take?

Most verifications are completed the same day, usually within a few hours.

Can non-UK residents be verified?

Yes. Non residents can be verified using the required documents.

Is this needed before forming a company?

Yes. From 18 November 2025 onward, all company subscribers and directors must be verified during formation.

What happens if my documents are not accepted?

We will assist you in correcting any issues and resubmitting without extra cost.

Do I need to use an ACSP?

If you do not verify directly with Companies House, then yes, using an ACSP is required for filings, company formation, and updates involving identity.

Is the £25 fee per person?

Yes, each director, PSC, or shareholder on formation requires their own verification. If you are both a director, PSC and shareholder, you only need to verify once.
